About Dragonfly Watercolor Artisan
I’ve always been surrounded by people with a gift for words. Me? I found a different language.

For over 30 years I’ve painted with various mediums, but watercolor found me at just the right time — and it changed everything. There’s something about the way water and pigment move together that I can’t fully control, and I’ve come to believe that’s the point. It leaves room for something greater than me.
In recent months my vision has changed in ways I couldn’t have anticipated. Yet somehow, in the midst of it, God has allowed me to paint what feels like my best work. I’ve moved to larger surfaces, which opens the process up, and I’ve begun using tools and approaches I never would have considered before. More and more I’m learning to step back and let the water, the pigment, and the light do their part—allowing the painting to build itself rather than forcing every decision. It’s a deeper version of what I’ve always loved about watercolor: that it leaves room for something greater than me.
I’m D. Bunting — Christian, wife, and artist, in that order. The paintings I create aren’t just nature scenes. They’re what God has put on my heart, expressed the only way I know how. A fox caught in snowy contemplation. Three horses fading into dusk. A tiny bird, full of quiet life. Each one is my attempt to show you something I couldn’t say out loud.
